Heartland Ventures Expands into Columbus

Heartland Ventures, a Midwest United States-based venture capital firm, is expanding into the Columbus, Ohio market. The expansion will enable the firm to connect more Columbus-based companies with Silicon Valley
technologies. Heartland Venture’s Founder and Managing Director Max Brickman will oversee the company’s growth and presence in the area.

“With the recent success and momentum we’re continuing to foster in South Bend and Fort Wayne, we knew that there was an opportunity to expand our presence into additional major cities in the Midwest,” said Brickman. “Columbus’ commitment to creating a collaborative ecosystem between startups and big companies made it an ideal market to work in and support.”

The company’s first fund, Heartland Ventures Fund I, raised $15 million. Heartland Ventures has invested in six portfolio companies, facilitated over 114 startup connections for Midwest corporations and created over $65 million in pipeline revenue for their portfolio companies since launching in 2016.

“Our expansion into Central Ohio will allow us to continue to build on the foundation that supports thriving startups and innovative, large companies,” said Brickman. “By focusing on cultivating connections between Columbus corporations and technology on the coasts, we’re creating stronger ties between the ecosystem established here and other tech hubs from around the country.”
